After some thought I decided this was the best way to get this information out there to protect other people,
This page contains information about an Ebay auction I was the so called "winner". I have done the best I can to provide all the information and leave it un -edited. It is here for your review and your own judgments.
This started when I wanted to convert my Mustangs rear to disc brakes. Here is the original auction listing as some screen captures spliced together. Read it carefully and pay attention to the Payment Details section as it will become the focus for this issue.
Notice the auction ended July 31 2007. My Paypal account indicates I paid Donald Henderson on August 1st 2007. Also note I opted to pay the extra $70 for "new rotors, brake pads and e-brake shoes". I figured if I was going to pay $65 for shipping I might as well get new parts in this deal instead of risk junk being sent. A check of local pricing indicated that was a fair deal.
On Friday August 10 2007 I arrived home to find no package and no contact from the seller. I figured 9 days was a respectable time period to wait for at least a shipping notice or tracking number.
I sent a message that evening through Ebay.
On Saturday August 11 2007 I received a message and a series of messages followed. Its a little hard to read but I didnt want to edit it .
As you can see I was informed there is a 2 week shipping delay? This delay was supposed to have been in the auction listing.
I have been down this road before and am very careful about reading auctions. I reviewed the auction and found no such delay mentioned. Then asked to have it pointed out and why a delay. His response states it was in the Payment Details section. and implied I did not read the auction? Hmmm
A short time later that evening i received yet 1 more message from this seller
So I'm right. but WAIT I'm "hostile" ????
Some one, any one please point out to me WHERE I was hostile ??
Now I admit I will not win the warm and fuzzy of the year award, but hostile ???? Seriously ???
I am a customer I waited a reasonable amount of time to receive a package and when none arrived I got concerned and asked to track it.
I went and reviewed his feedback. Feel free to do the same. It seems he has issues resolving customer concerns. I decided at that point to let it go a few days to let him cool off. Further communication would get me nothing at this point. Note he indicates will ship ASAP.
Its now Tuesday August 14 2007 when I decided to put up this page.
No contact, no tracking number (my original request) and no package. I didn't expect a package this soon but not even a tracking number for "ASAP shipping" how many auctions have ended and how many has he not shipped at this point??
August 20 2007 - Well its been over a week since the last contact. The "WITHIN 2 week" shipping was over on the 15th.
I checked with UPS to see what a 14x14x14 package weighing 40 lbs would cost to ship and the time it would take to get from Winston Salem to me in PA
You can clearly see the ship time is 2 days. There is no difference between ground and 2 day except for the cost. Keep in mind I paid $65 for shipping. Twice what the cost should be. A 60lb package adds about $5 to the ground cost.
I decided the best route to go at this point was to start the claims process. Previous contact proved less than productive
I sent this message through the Paypal claims system
Its Thursday August 23 2007. I received this message privately not through Paypal....
Well at least its a response? Lets see when the tracking number shows up.
Will update when / if I get anything. I'm interested to see the quality of these parts should they arrive.
